She walked along the shore,
searching the horizon in childish hope.
For some remnant of the past
to help her heart cope.
The storm began to break-
hair and gown blowing in the breeze.
She walked ever on, eyes empty
as she dropped to her knees.
The journey too great--the search with no end.
with all of her strength burried in the sand.
There she lay, defeated and broken,
when then her took her hand.
He lifted her gently--each broken piece--
and carried her on.
his touch upon her tender,
summoning the dawn.
